What AEO readiness means, and what this analyzer looks for

Answer engine optimization (AEO) is making your pages easy for AI assistants (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google's AI Overviews) to read, understand and quote. These tools build one answer from passages they trust, instead of showing a list of 10 links. A page is "AEO-ready" when its key answers are easy to pull out, its subject is clear and the crawlers that feed the assistants are allowed in.

What we score

  • Question-and-answer structure: headings written as the questions people ask, with a direct answer in the first sentence or two below.
  • Featured snippet patterns: definitions, numbered steps, short lists and comparison tables that can be lifted out cleanly.
  • Brand signals: Organization and Person schema, consistent names, and about and author information that tell machines who's speaking.
  • Structured data: FAQPage, HowTo, Article, Product and Service markup, checked against the visible content.
  • E-E-A-T signals: authorship, dates, sources and first-hand detail that make a passage trustworthy enough to cite.
  • AI crawler access: when you check by URL, which AI crawlers your robots.txt lets in.

How to use the result

Start with the lowest-scoring area on your most important page. Rewriting one intro so it answers the question directly, or adding a short FAQ with real questions from sales calls, often does more than adding markup. Then check whether assistants actually mention you with the AI Visibility Checker. This analyzer checks readiness. That tool measures the result.

How to use this tool

  1. 1
Enter a URL or paste HTML

Checking a URL also checks AI crawler access in robots.txt. Use "Load Demo" to see a full example first.

  2. 2
    Review the AEO score

The score combines the checks above. Each one shows what was found and what is missing.

  3. 3
    Fix the weakest area first

Usually that means answering the main question in the first lines, adding question-style headings and making sure the schema matches the visible text.

  4. 4
    Measure the effect

Run the analyzer again, then use the AI Visibility Checker to see whether assistants start mentioning you.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between SEO and AEO?

SEO helps a page rank in search results. AEO helps a page get quoted in AI answers. They overlap: crawler access, clear content and structured data help both. AEO puts more weight on direct answers, clear brand details and passages that make sense on their own.

Does FAQ schema still matter after Google's 2023 change?

Google now shows FAQ rich results only for a small set of authoritative sites, so FAQ markup rarely changes how your listing looks. It's still a clear, machine-readable list of the questions you answer, and AI tools and other search features can use it. So we still add it, matched to the visible FAQ.

Should I allow AI crawlers?

If you want an assistant to cite you, its crawler generally needs to read your pages. Some businesses block crawlers used for training but allow search crawlers. The analyzer shows your current rules so you can choose on purpose.

Does a high AEO score guarantee AI mentions?

No. Readiness removes obstacles, but whether an assistant recommends you also depends on what other sites say about you. Use the AI Visibility Checker to measure actual mentions.

Is the AEO Analyzer free?

Yes. Paste your HTML and you see a preview right away: your score and the top problems. The full report, with your fix plan, is free when you sign in with your email. Without an account you get 3 checks a day; with the free account, 10 a day, by URL or pasted HTML.
