Search Console Data Interpreter

Drop in a Search Console export and get quick wins, pages losing clicks, pages competing with each other and room to grow.

  • Free, no sign-up
  • Runs in your browser
  • CSV, Excel or a pasted table
Or paste from a sheet

Select a table in Google Sheets or Excel, including its heading row, copy it and paste it below. No reformatting needed. You need a name column (page, search, country…) with Clicks and Impressions. CTR and Position help, and the column order doesn’t matter. To paste more than one table, for example Pages and then Queries, leave an empty line between them.

Reads Pages, Queries, Countries, Devices and Dates: trends, quick wins, brand vs non-brand, mobile gaps and questions people ask.

Turn a Search Console export into an action plan

Google Search Console holds the best SEO data you have (real searches, clicks, impressions and positions), but its reports don't tell you what to do next. The GSC Data Interpreter reads the export exactly as Search Console downloads it and turns every table into a short list of actions, each with why it matters and how to do it.

Drop in the download, no editing needed

Upload the .zip (Download CSV) or .xlsx (Download Excel) file straight from Search Console. The interpreter reads all of it: Queries, Pages, Countries, Devices, Search appearance, Dates and the filters you used, in any interface language. Comparison exports (two date ranges side by side) work too. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded.

What it finds

  • Start here: the 3 to 5 most valuable actions in your data, in order, with step-by-step instructions.
  • What changed: the trend over time, the week clicks fell and, with a comparison export, exactly which pages and searches lost clicks and the likely reason: a lower ranking, less demand or fewer clicks at the same position.
  • Quick wins: pages and searches on page one that get fewer clicks than their position usually earns, which points to a title and description problem.
  • Close to page one: searches in positions 4 to 20, where a small ranking gain can bring many more clicks.
  • Questions people ask: question searches to answer in FAQ sections, which AI answers and featured snippets quote.
  • Brand vs. new visitors, the topics in your searches, gaps between mobile and desktop, weak countries and rich result types.

How to use this tool

  1. 1
    Export from Search Console

Performance β†’ Search results β†’ set the dates (Last 3 months, or Compare) β†’ Export β†’ Download CSV or Download Excel.

  2. 2
    Drop the file in

Upload the zip or Excel file as it is. Pasting a single table still works too. Try "See it with sample data" first.

  3. 3
    Read "Start here"

The first actions are ranked by value, and each one explains exactly what to do.

  4. 4
    Work through the sections

Searches, pages, devices and countries: every list says why an item is there and how to fix it.

Frequently asked questions

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and analyzed in your browser. Only if you connect Search Console in the free app does the data come from Google to your browser through our server.

Which export should I use?

The full download (Export β†’ Download CSV, which is a zip, or Download Excel) from the Performance report. Use "Compare" in the date picker to get the what-changed analysis.

Does it work in other languages?

Yes. Search Console translates file and column names, so the interpreter recognizes the tables by their content, not their names.

What's a "normal" click rate?

It's the industry average click rate for each position. Your results may have ads, maps or AI answers above you, so treat it as a guide. Big gaps are still worth a look.

Is it free?

Yes, the GSC Data Interpreter is free.
