What the Site AI Readiness Check looks at

When someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google’s AI Overviews for a recommendation, the answer is built from pages those tools can read, from businesses they can identify, and from sources they trust. Whether your site gets cited depends on all three, across the whole site, not just one page.

This check looks at your site the way those tools do and gives you one grade out of 100, made of four parts.

The four parts of the grade

  • Access for AI tools (25%): which AI crawlers your robots.txt lets in, crawler by crawler, split into answer engines that cite pages and crawlers that only train models. Plus whether your homepage can be indexed, whether its text is readable without JavaScript, and llms.txt.
  • Your business identity (25%): Organization schema, your official profiles in it, your logo, Wikidata, and whether your name is clear on the homepage.
  • Pages they can quote (30%): your homepage and several pages from your sitemap, spread across your sections, each run through the AEO Analyzer’s checks. The report shows them as a grid, so a problem that repeats on every page stands out. That’s usually a template, and fixing it once fixes every page.
  • Trust from other sites (20%): the listings and review sites AI answers draw on for your kind of business, plus visible proof, contact details and the people behind the business.

How it’s different from the other AI tools

The AEO Analyzer goes deep on one page. The AI Visibility Checker asks the AI assistants themselves whether they recommend you. This check sits between the two: the whole site, without asking any AI service, so it’s free.

How to use this tool

  1. 1
    Enter your website

Add your business name, what you do and where if you like. They make the identity and content checks more accurate.

  2. 2
Read the grade and the four parts

The lowest part is where you lose the most. If an AI search crawler is blocked, fix that before anything else.

  3. 3
Look down the columns of the page grid

A column with marks on most pages is a template problem. Give it to whoever looks after your theme.

  4. 4
    Work through the plan

The steps are in order. Then check again, and run the AI Visibility Checker to see whether the assistants mention you.

Frequently asked questions

Does a high grade mean AI tools will recommend me?

No. It means nothing on your site stands in the way. Whether you’re recommended also depends on your competitors, your reviews and what other sites say about you. The AI Visibility Checker shows what the assistants actually say.

Should I block GPTBot and the other training crawlers?

That’s your choice. Blocking training crawlers keeps your content out of future AI models but doesn’t stop answer engines from citing you. The check shows the two groups separately for that reason.

How many pages does it check?

Your homepage plus 5 pages from your sitemap with a free account, picked from different sections. Pro checks 15. One run uses one of your daily checks.

My site has no sitemap. Does it still work?

Yes, but it can only check pages linked from your homepage. Adding a sitemap helps search engines and AI tools find your pages too.
